Introduction

Healthcare policy has played a major role in the improvement of the healthcare condition of the individuals of society. For example, the healthcare policy discussed in this case if the national action plan for children and young members in Australian society.

The policy was formed in the year 2018 by the department of health via the intervention of the department of children and youth grants. The policy was formed to ensure that young members of the Australian society and the children had an opportunity to access healthcare and have a healthy life despite the backgrounds which they came from. The policy was created in the social context of the differences in classes of the members of the society (Hoare et al., 2020). There exist differences in wealth, and this determined the class in society. Thus, there developed a need to establish equality of all members of society via the creation of the policy. This paper is written mainly for making an analysis of the importance of the policy to the residents of Australia.

Critical Evaluation of the Policy

The action plan for the health of the children and the young member, however, function subjectively. This is because the policy is based on children and youth. It is based on the provision of good health and promoting of good welfare of the vulnerable members of the Australian Society (Vears et al., 2020). Also, the policy is based on the good and safe healthcare of the young members of the society via the reduction of the mortality rates amongst children.

Aims of the Policy

The aims of the policy include the following. For instance, improving the health equity of the children and young people across society. However, this has been achieved since all the individuals in Australian society have access to healthcare despite the differences in class. Another aim that is achieved is the tackling of risky behaviors. This is achieved through good healthcare services offered at an early age.

Besides, empowering the parents and caregivers to maximize healthy development is another aim of the policy. The policy has in the position of achieving this aim through the provision of guidelines in healthcare that leads to the healthy development of the children and the young members of the society (Vears et al., 2020). Also, the aim of preventive health has been achieved by the policy. For example, the policy has involved most of the children and young adults in the immunization program. This has played the role of preventing infection that might emerge in the future of the youth and the children. Children undergo healthy life programs that make them strong in the later years of their life. Besides, the provision of a strong workforce is another aim of the policy. The organization has been, however, been in the position of achieving this policy by the prevention of chronic diseases such as heart diseases, among other diseases. Also, through the reduction of the styles that lead to obesity.

Assumptions

The assumptions made regarding the action plan for the health of the children and young people include the following (Hoare et al., 2020). For example, it is assumed that the policy improves the health of the children and the young members of Australian society. This assumption is valid since the general health of the children, and the youth has improved. Another assumption that is made is that the policy leads to equity to the children and the youth in accessing the healthcare services (McDowall, 2018). This assumption is valid since the policy ensures health equity among the children and the youth in accessing healthcare.

Persuasion

The persuasions that are applied in influencing the policy include the inequality of the population. In Australian society, there has been inequality in the classes, and this leads to accessing the healthcare services to only those individuals that can afford to pay for the services. The development of the policy has enhanced the equity of the members in accessing healthcare services. This explanation is fair since it promotes equity. Also, the challenges of the population in accessing healthcare is another reason for the formation of the policy. This explanation is fair since it creates the good welfare of the members of the population.

Structure of the Policy

The policy, however, is structured in a manner that promotes the health of the children and young members. For example, it is structured to help that personnel that comes from a humble background. Those children and youths are from low-income families. Also, it is meant to help that personnel that is from the cultures that are diverse. For instance, the refugees who are from a foreign land and they are living in Australia. Also, the policy is structured to help those children from the Aboriginal and the Torres that expose and vulnerable to poor health.

Understanding of Key Ideas

The action for the health of the children and the youth is, however, enhanced for the purpose of understanding the key ideas in the discipline. For example, the health policy helps in educating the relationship that exist the infant health and that of the health of the workforce in the future (McDowall, 2018). The good health of the infant imply that the workforce of the later will be in good position. Also, the policy help in the major ideas of explaining the relationship that exist between healthcare services and health of an individual. When individuals tend to visit healthcare services they tend to have a healthy life due to the preventive measures that are adopted.

Conclusion

Healthcare policies play an essential role in influencing the health of individuals. For example, in the case of the action plan for the health of the children and the young it help in providing of the healthcare needs for the vulnerable members of the society. Also, it increases health equity thus prolonging the work life of the work force. The healthcare policies are meant for the purpose of improving the life of the members of the society.
